Real Estate Term Hereditament

Anything that can be passed down from one person to another. Whatever is inherited is termed hereditament.

They are two types of hereditament; corporeal (tangible) and incorporeal (intangible). The former includes houses, lands, furniture or anything that can be felt or touched. The latter include rights to property such as easements, leasehold, which cannot be touched.
