Real Estate Term Certificate of Title

A Certificate of Title verifies the true owner(s) of a piece of land and any encumbrances associated with the property.

In Jamaica, a Certificate of Title is issued by the Land Titles Division of the National Land Agency and shows the names of all the land owners, the unique reference number of the document (i.e., the volume and folio number), the lot number and location of the property, the size of the land, any easements, any mortgages, any caveats, any restrictive covenants and the owner's rights.
